I have been a member of the West Pasco Art Guild since 1991 and have been honored with a life-time membership. I served as Vice President for many years. Also have fun guiding the Tuesday open studio group and managing our critique sessions. We have a substantial guild art library which I also help manage.
After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with an art degree I taught art in public schools in Oklahoma, Oregon and Kansas.
On reaching Punta Gorda, Florida I worked at the Youth Museum which included, art for 3 year old to junior high students and programs for 4th graders in public schools. We also offered a summer class which combined science and art. We created museum exhibits and traveling exhibits which I enjoyed.
I gave oil and pastel classes to adults which were supported by the State of Florida. I also enjoyed teaching art for Montessori and Head Start.
In 1988 our group of artists decided to create the Sea Grape Art Gallery which is still located in downtown Punta Gorda. I served as Treasurer during the start up.I enjoy painting water colors, and helping others to create.
