We hope you and your loved ones are healthy and have the things you need during this trying time. While we are all preoccupied with the current situation, it is important to take care of our mental health as well. Art is a great way to take some time away from the news and allow yourself to escape into your creativity zone. It can help us reduce stress and promote our mental and physical well being.
Many of us miss our Guild interactions and we want to keep you involved in our community as best we can until we return back to normal operations. Here are some updates from the Guild.
Closure until at least April 15th
All classes, events, studio, gallery, and shop operations have been postponed until at least April 15th. The phones have been switched to online messages so we may more easily respond to your calls. We are anxious to start up in person again as soon as it is deemed safe to do so. We are closely monitoring the news and the directives of the Governor’s office. Please continue to be involved with us on social media and, of course, find time to be creative!
Online Board Meetings
Some of the WPAG Board members successfully held their first online meeting using Google Hangouts last week. While the April 3rd general membership meeting has been canceled, the Board is meeting online. In addition, we are potentially researching another software product that will allow us to include the entire membership in an online meeting as well. Stay tuned for more updates.
Important Planning Meeting Online Questionnaire
The March 28th planning meeting has been postponed. However, we invite you to share your ideas for this 2020-21 year online. Everyone’s opinion matters and we really need to hear from you. Please take a moment to give us recommendations for how you would like to see the WPAG change and grow over the next 12 months. What shows, workshops, activities would you like us to host? PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE OR TWO TO GIVE US YOUR IDEAS ONLINE. You may fill the survey out multiple times if you want.
New Facebook Group Allows Us to Stay in Touch
If you haven’t already subscribed to our facebook and youtube channels, please do so.
https://www.facebook.com/pascoartguild/
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-0pzVsQTwwlO_U1Zi6mk6Q
We need 66 more subscribers on youtube to get our own name in the web address as the one above is a little tough to remember. lol
In addition to our public page, we also have an internal membership only group where we can keep in touch real time. This is a great place to share our current art projects and challenge ourselves to continue to express our creativity. Please join the West Pasco Art Guild facebook group here.
More Online Activities
In addition to our social media outlets, our web site, these emails, and our online board meetings, we are getting ready to record and present the “Salute to Old Masters” Art Show. So many of you worked so hard on your art, we will create a video to share the “masterpieces” with you online.

Darla Nolan will be working to share with you some portraiture lessons to those of you registered in her portraiture workshop online until we can resume in person training.
Also, Lionel has agreed to continue his drawing class online and we will be making those videos available privately to those who are registered in his class. If any of you would like to record yourself demonstrating a quick tutorial, let me know and we can make it available to members. Write me at stacey@westpascoartguild.org and we will make arrangements.
Honoring Bette MacDonald
Last week, our beautiful Bette MacDonald passed. She will be missed dearly. Bette was an incredible person who brought amazing talents to the Guild.
